This past week was tough. Except for Mother's Day, which was appropriately lovely and restful. (Breakfast in bed with a very excited boy handing me cards and presents!) But up until yesterday I was struggling. I got a nasty UTI and had to go on antibiotics. (Sorry if that's TMI but get used to it - this is me pregnant and I am just getting started.) I hate taking medication when I am pregnant. I don't even take Tylenol unless it's absolutely necessary. I know that it will be fine but I would just assume not wake up to a scary headline eight years from now about some unseen side effect of Macrobid on the unborn. The fatigue is kicking my ass. It's way more intense than I remember from the first go around. And recently there have been some hormone surges that are leaving me a weeping mess. On top of all this Lowell has chosen this time to let his Two Mojo flow. The tantrums are epic. There has been much hitting and kicking and screaming and at a couple points last week he broke me. Seriously. I didn't think that parenting could humble me any further but, ha! So wrong. Needless to say I was looking for a few things to get me through the days. Here is what I have been clinging to:
This view out my breakfast nook window. Dogwood heaven.
Letting Lowell dress himself.
Organic Morello Cherry Fruit Spread take me away!
Our lilac bush which had just four or five measly flowers last year. I pruned it and fed it and look! I wish you could smell them.
My mother's day present. I love it so.
You're necklace is very pretty.
Sorry you've had a bad week. Hope this one comes with more jam and less tantrums.

UTIs are a bitch. Nevertheless, I'm glad your Mother's Day was restful. Wish mine had been.

They do smell like South Bend! On the days when South Bend didn't smell like ethanol.
