Note to self: Talking about your two-year old's penis is a reaaaaal comment-killer.
Last time I was pregnant I got plenty of the usual questions. But the one I got the most, far and away, was "are you having any weird cravings?" I have no idea why that question was so popular, although thinking back I think it might have been because I had food in my mouth at almost every waking moment. The problem was I always had to disappoint people. I had cravings, but mostly for things like cheeseburgers, and who (sans the vegans) doesn't crave cheeseburgers?
This time, again, not much difference. Here are the top five:
1. Ice Cream (mainly vanilla, could I be any normaler?)
2. Pickles (alas, not with the former) or anything vinegary
3. Pineapple
4. Melted cheese
5. Chocolate
The only item above that I don't regularly crave when not up the pole (although not with such murderous force) is pineapple. Also, I don't normally lick vinaigrette off my plate. But in general, how freaking boring. I wish I could answer "metal filings" or "mycoprotein nuggets" but it just wouldn't be true. I suppose I could lie to strangers, in the interest of giving them a good story, but my random interactions with strangers levels have taken a real nose-dive since leaving the city. Perhaps I will start wearing a button that says "Ask me about my cravings!" and then try and sell the suckers Shaklee products. By the way - anyone happen to see the ridiculous segment (ahh, there I go being redundant again) about wet nurses and "cross-nursing" on the Today show this morning? (Why was I watching? I don't know, the potty-training is driving me to all sorts of desperate behavior. An obvious call for help if you ask me.) The one fact that stuck in my head was some women are charging over a grand a week to wet nurse. For one second I did think "Hmmm, I could use a little pin-money..."
i'm sorry but a grand a week is not nearly enough...

I love that you used the term "pin-money."

Ha! I never even made that connection. You are a savant. It's like "butter and egg money". Which, come to think of it, might have been a better choice given the subject manner.

I'm not sure what wet nurses are, but something tells me I don't want to know.
I'll just keep thinking that you are talking about some lovely young ladies that might have had to run through the rain to get to the hospital.
