1. THE END OF THE WINTER IS NIGH!
In case you are not a Woodchuck Wicca enthusiast, Punxsutawney Phil did NOT see his shadow so Spring will come early this year. Seeing as we have had only a week of winter this year I am not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing. Also, the sign in fig. 1 might be my all-time favorite environmental slogan.
2. It is my birthday today.
3. We are hightailing it out of town without the kid. We're going to an undisclosed location to P-A-R-T-Y. With Donald Fagen no less. I told a friend that we were going to this concert and she kept telling everyone I was going to see Dan Fogleberg. I know that the degrees of separation are wafer-thin but, unfortunately, there is no "Longer" or "Leader of the Band" in our immediate future. Alas.
Happy Day! It's my brother's too. He's 40, and that makes ME feel incredibly old. But not Donald Fagan old. Just, like, "I was there when Tiffany was cool" kind of old.
Here, Happy Birthday: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lWe8vHzABmk (doesn't she look a little like Jennifer before the nose job?)

Oh dear lord. Donald Fagan is cool; Dan Fogleberg makes me want to weep crocodile tears that will fall onto my gold crocheted sweater and avocado green corduroys.
Sorry. Fogleberg's music is just so ... 1970s sensitive.
Also? Happy birthday.

Did you actually go to the show? I saw Phoebe Snow in the late 90s and she is phenomenal!

We did! And she was incredible! I was seriously blown away. My favorite number of the night was her singing the lead on Steely Dan's "Dirty Work." Great night.

I. Am. So. Jealous! We saw Fagen last July when he was touring with Walter Becker (Steely Dan) and Michael McDonald opened for them. I loves me some Donald Fagen!

The Nightfly...great album! I'm glad to see I'm not the only Donald Fagen fan around.
Hope the show was great.
